KahniyanStories worth reading twice

About the stories

The traditional stories on Kahniyan are retellings. They are written in our own words based on public-domain sources such as the Panchatantra, Aesop's fables, the Thousand and One Nights, the Jataka tales and Greek mythology.

Folk tales exist in many versions. The version told here may differ from the one you know, and neither is more correct than the other. Where a story has a well-known alternative name, we give it.

The horror stories and riddles are original writing and are not based on real events.
