Many nights, especially in summer, we can see the sky full of lights that shine in the dark. They are the stars.
The Sun is a star, although as you can see, it seems much larger than the others. This is because the Sun is much closer to the Earth and therefore appears larger to us.
The Sun is a huge source of energy. Human beings, animals and plants need the light and heat of the Sun to exist. Without the Sun, life on planet Earth would not be possible.
